SLR Local Recruitment Ltd are proud to be working with a large local employer who care about their employees and are looking for a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join their team working across the University of Southampton’s residential halls and estates. You’ll be part of a friendly, professional crew handling everything from day-to-day repairs to planned maintenance and small projects.
 
What You’ll Be Doing:

• General carpentry repairs in student accommodation (occupied and empty)
• Fitting fire doors, first/second fix carpentry, kitchen fitting
• Minor tiling, decorating, carpet work, and glazing
• Diagnosing and fixing faults – sometimes outside your core trade
• Supporting other trades and reacting to emergencies
• Keeping clients informed and jobs on track
• Recording work (photos included) and keeping your van tidy

What We’re Looking For:

• NVQ Level 2-3 in Carpentry (or equivalent)
• 2–5 years’ experience in building maintenance (education experience a bonus)
• DBS cleared
• Great problem solver and communicator
• Proactive, organised and safety-minded
• Team player who’s also happy working solo
• Own tools and a practical mindset
