Contracts Manager
Contracts Manager, experienced in construction (building services) and refurbishment projects required (working on a portfolio of projects valued upto £5m).
Location: Portsmouth.
Salary: Upto 72.5k pa. (40-hour week).

As a Contracts Manager, you will lead and oversee a variety of construction and refurbishment projects. Working across multiple sectors, your focus will be on ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Operations Manager and Building Projects Director in strategic delivery.
- Coordinate Pre-Construction Information and ensure full compliance with our Construction Management System (CMS).
- Oversee operational delivery, ensuring quality, client satisfaction, and compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
- Promote and enforce safe working practices at all times.
- Act as or appoint the Temporary Works Co-ordinator as needed.
- Lead and support Site Managers throughout project delivery.
- Ensure robust contract administration, accurate programming, and strong commercial and financial discipline.
- Produce and maintain project programmes at all stages — tender, construction, and weekly/monthly look-ahead.
- Build and manage a reliable, compliant supply chain.
- Work closely with Quantity Surveyors to ensure timely valuations and contract compliance.
- Provide regular progress reports and updates to clients and senior leadership.
- Monitor project performance using KPIs and contribute to achieving business goals.
- Build relationships with current and potential clients to support future business growth.
- JCT/hybrid.
What We’re Looking For Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in project management.
- Proficient in project programming software (preferably MS Project).
Qualifications
- Degree or HNC in a relevant field and/or MCIOB status.
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
- Temporary Works Co-Ordinator certification.
- First Aid at Work (3-day course). Ideally but can be provided.
