Contracts Manager

Contracts Manager, experienced in construction (building services) and refurbishment projects required (working on a portfolio of projects valued upto £5m).
Location: Portsmouth.
Salary: Upto 72.5k pa. (40-hour week).

As a Contracts Manager, you will lead and oversee a variety of construction and refurbishment projects. Working across multiple sectors, your focus will be on ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Operations Manager and Building Projects Director in strategic delivery.
  • Coordinate Pre-Construction Information and ensure full compliance with our Construction Management System (CMS).
  • Oversee operational delivery, ensuring quality, client satisfaction, and compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Promote and enforce safe working practices at all times.
  • Act as or appoint the Temporary Works Co-ordinator as needed.
  • Lead and support Site Managers throughout project delivery.
  • Ensure robust contract administration, accurate programming, and strong commercial and financial discipline.
  • Produce and maintain project programmes at all stages — tender, construction, and weekly/monthly look-ahead.
  • Build and manage a reliable, compliant supply chain.
  • Work closely with Quantity Surveyors to ensure timely valuations and contract compliance.
  • Provide regular progress reports and updates to clients and senior leadership.
  • Monitor project performance using KPIs and contribute to achieving business goals.
  • Build relationships with current and potential clients to support future business growth.
  • JCT/hybrid. 

What We’re Looking For Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in project management.
  • Proficient in project programming software (preferably MS Project).

Qualifications

  • Degree or HNC in a relevant field and/or MCIOB status.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification. 
  • Temporary Works Co-Ordinator certification.
  • First Aid at Work (3-day course). Ideally but can be provided.
