Groundworker – Fareham

Location: Fareham

Hours: 40 per week

Salary: £33,500

SLR Local Recruitment are looking for a skilled and reliable Groundworker to join a team for a large local company in Fareham, working on a contract for Fareham Borough Council.
 
You’ll carry out maintenance, repairs, and improvements to both void and occupied properties, with a mix of responsive and planned works.
 
You’ll need at least 3 years’ trade experience (ideally in residential repairs), a relevant qualification (NVQ Level 2 or similar), and a full UK driving licence. A DBS check is also required.
 
What you’ll do:

• Carry out groundworks, fencing, paving, and brickwork
• Diagnose and resolve repairs – ideally first time
• Work closely with tenants, keeping them informed
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and customer care
• Occasionally support other trades and be available for out-of-hours work when needed

What we’re looking for:

• Hands-on experience with fencing (wooden & chain link), slab re-bedding, and basic brickwork
• A problem-solver with good judgement and strong communication skills
• Someone who’s self-motivated, flexible, and works well in a team
