Our client is a ship repairer, marine engineering services provider and turn-key interior outfitter.
Trading from multiple locations in the UK, supporting the commercial marine, cruise and defence sectors, our client is a customer focused business, with a reputation for excellence, and a proven track record of delivery.
We are currently recruiting for a Marine Foreman to join their team in Poole on a permanent basis.
Job Overview To assist the General Manager with the management of a profitable business unit that achieves budgetary expectations, ensuring that you (and your business unit) always represent the client in the best possible light whilst adhering to our core values.
Duties, to include but not limited to:
- Supervision and monitoring of the work undertaken by production staff, ensuring the required quality and safety standards are met
- To understand and monitor the hours, materials, consumables and equipment quoted on a job in order to complete the work on time and on budget
- Organisation and attendance of various client meetings, maintain regular client communication and deal with any technical / operational queries raised
- Daily management of contractors and sub-contractors for assigned projects
- Planning of labour and materials to ensure jobs are kept on time and budget
- Ensure compliance with SHE procedures
Skills / Experience:
- Marine experience with a strong knowledge and understanding of the industry
- Good understanding of IT packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong communication skills including spoken and written English
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematic parts manuals and diagrams and associated technical data & specifications
- Previous experience in the supervision of personnel including the monitoring of work output & quality
Additionally, you must hold a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel to meet business needs.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From £24.00 per hour plus overtime is paid at time and a half.
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
