SLR Recruitment are looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters and Turners to join a family-run engineering firm in Southampton, working on varied and busy projects.

Location: Southampton
Pay: £22–£24ph (Temp) | £18.60ph + OT (Perm)
Type: Temp-to-Perm or Direct Perm

What you’ll need:

• Manual turning experience (not CNC)
• Skilled in using lathes, pillar drills, mills
• Experience with gearboxes, pumps, motors, and engines
• Full UK driving licence (essential for travel and call-outs)

Details:

• Temp rate: £22–£24ph (3-month contract)
• Perm rate: £18.60ph + OT (T/half: £27.90, DT: £37.20)
• Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm (37.5 hrs/week)
• Regular overtime (50–60 hrs/month)
• 25 days holiday, increasing with service
• Training provided (first aid, MEWP, asbestos, etc.)
• Technical upskilling available
• Optional call-out rota
• Company vans for key personnel based on role and out-of-hours cover
