Salary: Up to £29,744.00 pa. (40-hour week).

The role of Painter & Decorators, no two days will be the same. You’ll work across social housing, schools, offices, and commercial properties, ensuring buildings are safe, compliant, and well-maintained.

Role Summary:
To carry out maintenance, repairs, and void refurbishments across Portsmouth City Council properties, including social housing, schools, offices, and heritage buildings. The role requires high-quality workmanship, compliance with safety regulations, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform painting and decorating repairs, including preparation, emulsion, gloss painting, wallpaper hanging, and artex repairs.
- Diagnose and complete repairs efficiently, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including company vehicles and tools.
- Communicate effectively with tenants, supervisors, and the Operations Centre to ensure smooth job completion.
- Follow company processes, risk assessments, and health & safety protocols.
Skills & Knowledge:
- NVQ Level 2 in Painting & Decorating or equivalent experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and complete repairs efficiently.
- Good communication and customer service skills, especially in sensitive tenant situations.
- Knowledge of building materials, repair methods, and industry regulations.
- Experience in social housing or building maintenance (2-5 years preferred).
