Plasterer – Portsmouth City Council (Farlington)
 
Hours: 40 hrs/week

Pay: £33,421 pa

Benefits: 23 days holiday (+ Bank Holidays), generous pension, life assurance

Reports to: Supervisor
 
What you’ll do

  • Carry out day‑to‑day and void plastering repairs across our housing, schools, offices, museums and other PCC sites.
  • Jobs range from skim coats, rendering and coving to boarding ceilings, stud walls and small patch repairs.
  • Diagnose each job, work safely and neatly, and wrap everything up in as few visits as possible.
  • Keep tenants in the loop, follow our processes, and log materials/updates on your PDA.
  • Look after your van, tools and site cleanliness – “leave it better than you found it.”

What we’re looking for

  • NVQ 2 (or equivalent) in Plastering.
  • 2‑5 years’ experience in social housing or building maintenance.
  • Confident with risk assessments, basic IT/PDA use and good customer care.
  • Organised, self‑motivated and happy to pitch in with the wider maintenance team.
  • Full kit of trade tools and a clean, safety‑first approach.
