Salary: Up to £34,070.40 pa. (40-hour week).

The role of Plumber, no two days will be the same. You’ll work across social housing, schools, offices, and commercial properties, ensuring buildings are safe, compliant, and well-maintained.

Role Summary:

Carry out routine and responsive plumbing repairs across PCC’s housing and corporate properties, including social housing, schools, offices, and museums. Work involves bathroom installations, first and second fixing, drainage repairs, shower pump replacements, tiling, and non-licensed asbestos removal (training provided).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high-quality workmanship, safety, and compliance.
  • Maintain professionalism and customer service standards.
  • Diagnose and complete repairs efficiently, updating the Operations Centre as needed.
  • Keep van and tools organized for easy access.
  • Adhere to PCC’s repair process (PLAN: Proportionate, Lawful, Auditable, Necessary).

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Effective communication via phone/PDA.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with building materials, methods, and regulations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • NVQ Level 2-3 in Plumbing (or equivalent trade experience).
  • 2-5 years in social housing or building maintenance.

You’ll need to undergo a DBS background and work history checks to support your application.
