Technical Sales Engineer
Salary: £40,000-£50,000
Location: Fleet (office-based) with UK & international travel

The Role
This is a hands-on technical sales and engineering role focused on:

• Marine fire alarm & detection systems
• Signaline Linear Heat Detection (LHD)
• General fire detection products

You’ll combine system design, technical sales, and commissioning support, working with shipyards, vessel owners, integrators, and global customers.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical sales for marine fire alarm systems
• Design fire detection systems (layouts, loops, networks, panels, devices)
• Produce and review technical drawings and documentation
• Configure and support systems such as Ampac, Kentec, Consilium, and Tyco
• Support onsite and remote commissioning, including panel programming, testing, FAT/SAT, and fault finding
• Provide design and commissioning support for Signaline LHD systems
• Prepare technical proposals, specifications, and cost estimates
• Ensure compliance with marine standards (DNV, ABS, LR, BV, etc.)
• Deliver technical presentations and training
• Maintain CRM records and project documentation
• Support quotations, customer enquiries, and occasional general office/warehouse tasks

Required Experience

• Fire engineering qualification (or similar)
• 3+ years in marine fire detection technical sales, design, or commissioning
• Experience with system design, technical drawings, and panel programming
• Hands-on experience with Consilium systems preferred
• Knowledge of Signaline LHD or similar
• Understanding of marine regulations and class approvals
• AutoCAD (or similar) skills
• Willingness to travel, including sea trials

• Comfortable balancing sales and hands-on engineering
• Able to deliver training and presentations
