Our client is looking for a Systems Engineer to join their Surveillance team, supporting Primary Surveillance Radar (PSR) and Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) systems within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer with a background in radar, defence, aviation, rail, navy, RAF or other complex operational environments.
The Role
You’ll support the full lifecycle of surveillance systems including procurement, installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance and ongoing system improvements. Working across multiple projects, you’ll provide technical expertise, fault investigation and engineering support while ensuring operational performance and safety standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of radar and ATC engineering projects
- Produce technical specifications, test reports and engineering documentation
- Carry out system testing, fault finding and investigations
- Support installation, commissioning and system upgrades
- Act as Engineering Authority for designated systems
- Coordinate stakeholders, subcontractors and project activities
- Support and mentor junior team members
What We’re Looking For
- Experience within a safety-critical engineering environment
- Knowledge of PSR / SSR systems highly desirable
- Strong understanding of RF engineering and radar systems
- Experience with installation, integration, networking and fault finding
- HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification preferred
- Backgrounds considered include aviation, defence, rail, navy, RAF and related sectors
