Based in Ryde – Working Island-wide

Full Time – 40 Hours/Week

£35,092.10 per year

23 Days Holiday + Pension + Life Assurance
 
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Multi-Skilled Carpenter to join our team working on day-to-day repairs and maintenance across Isle of Wight Council and Vectis Housing Association properties.
 
What you’ll be doing:

• Carrying out a wide range of carpentry work in homes and public buildings – including fire doors, kitchens, first/second fix, and DFG adaptations.
• Supporting other trades with basic plumbing, tiling, and general repair work.
• Making sure jobs are done safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Keeping customers informed and happy throughout the job.
• Using a PDA to log work, take photos, and report progress.

What we’re looking for:

• At least 3 years’ experience in carpentry, ideally within housing repairs.
• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Carpentry.
• Skilled in two additional trades (e.g. plumbing, tiling).
• Confident installing fire doors and kitchens.
• Good communicator, team player, and able to work independently.
• Full UK driving licence and DBS clearance required.
