Multi Skilled operative

SLR is looking for a Multi-Skilled Operative to join an established team in Southampton.
 
With over 25 years of experience in container hire and sales, This company are a leading UK supplier known for excellent customer service and professionalism. As a growing business, They are looking for a dedicated Multi-Skilled Operative to join our expanding container conversions division.
 
Role Overview
You will support our workshop team in the repair, preparation, and conversion of shipping containers for various uses, including site offices, welfare units, workshops, and bespoke conversions. Previous experience in construction, engineering, or manufacturing is preferred but not essential, as we provide comprehensive training.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Reporting to the foreman for daily tasks
• Lining and insulating container offices
• Installing floor vinyl and performing trimming
• Timber frame construction and basic carpentry (e.g., kitchen installations)
• Fitting and fixing construction components
• Assisting with manual labour duties
• Final cleaning of units

 
We’re looking for someone with a background in construction and the ability to adapt to changing tasks. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, and able to work independently with general supervision.
 
Job Details

• Hours: 45 hours per week (day shift)
• Contract Type: Full-time
• Salary: £14.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
