We’re excited to offer an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Multi-skilled Plumber to join our growing team. This permanent role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive and thriving workplace.
 
We deliver responsive maintenance and void property works on behalf of Woking Borough Council — both during normal working hours and as part of an out-of-hours call-out rota.
Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults across core and associated trades.
• Ensure all work meets the highest quality standards.
• Support colleagues across all trades to deliver a safe, professional maintenance and repairs service.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations and resolve issues efficiently.
• Keep customers informed about work progress and plans.
• Work efficiently and cost-effectively, minimising downtime and reporting any issues to the Resource Controller and/or Supervisor.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures, using risk assessments, method statements and PPE when required.
• Maintain tools, plant and equipment in a clean, safe and workable condition.
• Keep accurate records of completed work, including photographic evidence when needed.
• Seek assistance from your supervisor whenever required.
• Be willing to work out of hours when needed to meet client and customer demands.
• Support other Mountjoy contracts as directed by the Contract Manager.
• Maintain your company vehicle in a clean and tidy condition and report defects promptly.
• Work collaboratively as part of the team and participate in the on-call rota (Out of Hours).

Skills Required

• Competence in all aspects of bathroom installation, including tiling.
• Confident using a phone and PDA to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Professional when dealing with tenants, including in challenging or sensitive situations.
• Able to complete outstanding tasks before moving to new areas of work.
• Strong diagnostic skills with a focus on first-time fix solutions.
• A team player who shares good practice and lessons learned.
• Practical and proactive approach to health and safety.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivated with excellent time management and organisation skills.
• Able to make sound decisions based on knowledge, judgement and experience.
• Willing to learn and engage fully with Mountjoy’s processes and culture.

Qualifications Required

• NVQ Level 2-3 in Plumbing (or equivalent).
• Competency in at least two additional secondary skills.
• Full current driving licence.
• DBS check required prior to starting.

Experience Required

• Over 3 years’ trade experience, ideally within the residential repairs sector.
• Good understanding of residential Building Regulations.
• At least 3 years’ experience in bathroom installations.
• Experience fitting laminate flooring (desirable).
